Indoor Air Comfort
Central Air Conditioning has gone from an expensive luxury item to an affordable necessity. Today’s air conditioners are more efficient making them affordable to operate.
The refrigerant used in air conditioning had been blamed on harming our earths ozone layer. According to the Clean Air Act of 1990, Freon 22 and other harmful refrigerants will soon have to turn to new refrigerants. Carrier has been offering an alternative refrigerant, Puron, in its new air conditioning systems since 1996. Environmentally sound, economically sound and extremely reliable, Carriers Puron refrigerant provides the comfort you expect from an industry leader like Carrier.
Existing air conditioners can operate more efficiently and do a better job of cooling with some basic maintenance. A professional technician should check your heating and air conditioning equipment on a regular basis
but you can help yourself by changing the filter on your furance to increase airflow. A plugged up air filter will actually decrease the airflow so much that the air conditioner will form a block of ice and quit blowing cool air.
Be sure that the outside unit is clean. Wash dirt from the condenser with a downward stream of water being careful not to spray the dirt further into the coils. Keep weeds and bushes away from the unit for proper air movement. Be careful when cutting grass or trimming around the condenser so the unit doesn’t get bumped which could kink the refrigeration line or that a wire doesn’t get cut.
